Above is a funny video staring Roger McNamee who is a major financial investor in Palm. In the video, McNamee has been chosen to be the official Pre spokesperson and goes on to make some completely ridiculous claims - or are they? Apparently the Pre responds to your emails before you even get them, qualifies you for a TARP bailout and causes you to lose 30 pounds. I better start camping outside the Sprint store for one tomorrow.

Palm Pre Released on June 6th. Best Buy first to eat the $100 rebate

The technology world is all a glee with the newest smart phone from the ones that started it all Palm with the Palm Pre available on the Sprint Network. Best Buy is going to be offering an instant rebate versus the mail in rebate. Very Cool.

We have been really excited to get one of these damn things as I have always been a palm fan as previously noted on the blog.

I used to have a Handspring with an Omnisky Modem allowing me to send email from my Handspring and in addition I had a foldout full size keyboard so I could type like a real man.

Yeah I was on the cutting edge...

It's pretty amazing how things have changed and one thing is clear. This thing is poised to be a hit. I'm glad that the iphone has a competitor it makes the field a bit more interesting to say the least.

I look forward to working on this new phone and getting rid of the bulkiness of the Treo.

Great Phone. But I miss the the thin phones as well. Going to get one of those as well.

11:00 a.m. PST. I am excited to see when this beautiful little device will hit the market. Giving the iphone a little competition and at the same time giving us fans of the original Palm systems and users of sprint something to be excited about.

That being said I am a fan of Mac and of Palm and I was remiss at seeing Palm fall so far behind the pack of late. Looking very forward to this release.

In his new venture he originally intended to create a laser that would detect disease but with funding issues it turned into a laser that would help detect explosives..

The next variation was a bit more Stealthy a  laser that would blind the guidance system of an antiaircraft missle. Yeah THAT'S COOL.

So the two thing that inspire eme here are simply.

1. A midlife crisis at 60. So now I have an excuse.

2. Flexibility in the marketplace- To quote from the article...

"One thing I learned is that a small company has to be very agile with respect to market opportunities," said Patel, now 70. "You can't create new science all of a sudden, but you can fill in the gaps in terms of where the needs are."

I have met many an entrepreneur that became so focused on the original goal that they couldnt see the opportunities or the shifts that they should make in order to be successful. Some entrepreneurs come with inflexible traits and stay on the wrong course for way too long.

We continue to learn this lesson at KMG and are working to reposition ourselves constantly.

Microsoft pulls another fast one...Yeah Really

That constituted a deliberate attempt by Microsoft to fool consumers into buying PCs that could not run the "full" version of Vista, according to the plaintiffs in the lawsuit.

Wow! this is just so sad and another reason to be incredibly cautious when buying a PC right now...

Flip Camera goes to HD...Really

Flip camera goes HD.

I have never used a Flip camera but I am considering contacting them in reference to using them in the new "Blog This with David Kamatoy" TV show that were working on. What I would enjoy about a Flip Camera is the portability and the fact that I could just drop it into the computer. One of the greater challenges of video production is transfer time. While Prosumer and Professional cameras do have HardDrive Options we are still mostly aquiring via tape.

I can easily see my team members armed with Flip Cameras,
 release forms and press passes.

In addition the reality is that Standard Definition is still what is being used predominately. Back in the day we used to worry about losing a generation because we were shooting on tape and editing on tape. Nowadays people are shooting HD because they have a video camera importing a huge file into a computer and then uploading to youtube and going down in quality that way. In addition if you want to edit and then export that file into a HD DVD then you also need that level of optical drive in the computer to output it as well as play it.

Transitionally speaking yes it will move to HD and HD from a broadcast format will give us a leg up on the competition but it still bodes to CONTENT first.

From an additional technical standpoint. It may be HD but its a limited lens. The lens itself gives you a certain look that you cant really deviate from. The most proffesional cameras give you lots of lens choices.

That being said, I still want one. lol. I think many of us right biw are shooting in HD and then posting in standard with the ability to go to HD when needed.

Wow! everyone knew that the integration of Vista was a nightmare but its amazing that they actually are moving backwards to move forwards. Congrats!

I know apple just recently did this with an ipod and then back in the day with The Cube. Seriously not one person I worked with embraced Vista in any way shape or form. In practice when they tried to use it they had to go back to Windows in order to work.

Apple vs Psystar: Who you got?

San Diego,CA- I am a Mac fan and I always appreciated the short lived Mac licensed products. It will be interesting to see what will happen as psystar is going to battle against Mac. However the angle of the Countersuit,arguing that  Apple has violated antitrust laws by exclusively licensing its Mac Operating Systems to Mac computers is a pretty valid angle.

Lets face it as Mac gains more and more of a foothold in the marketplace the more an argument like this can seem pretty valid.

We will see what happens. By the way we need some new Macs....

Palm launches the 800w

Palms Glimmer of Hope

OK so while Apple is selling millions of iphones Palm quietly launched a new Phone. I use the Palm OS 650 versus the Microsoft OS Deal. I have a close contact that used the W version and had issues. I  was familiar with the Palm OS so I got that one especially since I bounce from Apple to PC.

I'm interested to see the next generation again I am happy with the Treo but seriously I'm looking for a better Browser...PLease.

San Diego CA,- I read the review about the new iphone and I was impressed, very impressed but I had no idea that it would move like this... I assume that many of these buys were upgrades versus new lines but still...WOW!!!

I am with Sprint so I dont have access without switching which I dont plan on doing quite yet. I have worked with email on the phone on and off since omnisky. The thing I am most jealous of besides the incredibly cool operating system is the internet browser.

I am still waiting for a really cook browser for palm etc. Still waiting.

I would love to know your thoughts on the new iphone if and when your getting one or even if you care.
